Description Atlantic Emergency Solutions is seeking full time Heavy Truck Mechanic/Service Technician for our Shelbyville, KY Regional Service Center. Our Heavy Truck Mechanics are responsible for analyzing malfunctions and repairs, rebuilding and maintaining fire and emergency equipment. This includes, but is not limited to the units, pumps, compressors, and generators. A Heavy Truck Mechanic will operate and inspect machines or equipment to diagnose discrepancies, dismantles, repairs, reassembles vehicles or equipment utilizing hand tools and hoists. Examines parts for damage or excessive wear using precision measuring equipment. Repairs, rebuilds, overhauls, replaces defective assemblies and components such as collector gear boxes, transfer cases, differentials, and both water or hydraulic pumps. Tests overhauled equipment to insure operating efficiency. Welds broken parts and structural members. Requirements Successful candidate will have at least three years of prior experience in the heavy truck industry, along with being able to lift up to 30lbs without assistance. Pre-employment drug screening and satisfactory driving record required. Additionally, Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), Class B is required or must be obtained within three months of hire. However, these certifications must be obtained within the initial 12-month probationary period. • Emergency Medical Technician Certification (EMT-B or EMT-A, P) as established and certified by the Kentucky Board of Emergency Medical Services (KBEMS) • Certifications from the US Department of Homeland Security/FEMA that include NIMS IS-100, 200, 700, and 800 • A CPAT card as certified by the Kentucky Fire Commission at time of hire. The CPAT requirement may be waived for a lateral transfer who is currently employed with or who has previously been employed by a Kentucky fire department prior to January 1, 2013 in accordance with KRS Chapters 67, 75, and 95; and who has not been out of the fire service for more than one (1) year. Qualified candidates will be notified via email of their test date. Candidates who show proof of IFSAC accreditations in Firefighter 1 and 2 may forego the written exam and be given a score of 80. Successful completion of the physical agility test is required for anyone with a CPAT card greater than 180 days old. Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of modern firefighting principles, methods, and techniques. Knowledge of departmental operating procedures. Knowledge of the operation and maintenance of fire vehicles, equipment, and related apparatus. Knowledge of the geography of the city, including the location of streets and roads, fire hydrants and the location and interior of major buildings. Knowledge of the principles of hydraulics and their application to the operation of fire apparatus. Working knowledge of building maintenance. Salary: Compensated through a pay scale that starts at $37,000 annually, and can extend to $46,209 for career fire experience totaling up to ten (10) years. Material Handler/Forklift Operator Shelbyville, KY Join our busy operations team to safely move materials and assist production in preparing product for shipment. Our Shifts: 1st shift - 6:30AM to 3PM Monday to Friday. 2nd shift - 2:30PM to 11PM Monday to Friday. $1/hour shift premium Daytime 12s - 6AM to 6:30PM Monday to Saturday 3 days per week Overnight 12s - 6PM to 6:30AM Monday to Saturday 3 days per week, $1/hour shift premium We’re currently seeking applicants for 1st & 2nd shifts. Pay: Starting pay is $16.75-17.75/hour with increases each year plus shift premium when applicable. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties as assigned. • Reads work orders and follows oral instructions as to certain materials or containers to be moved. Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, racks, and shelves by hand or with lift trucks. • Loads materials into or onto feeding devices or vehicles and may install strapping or bracing to prevent shifting or damage. • Conveys materials to or from storage and work areas to designed areas using lift trucks or other devices. Secures lifting attachment to materials and conveys load to destination. • May weigh materials or products and record weight or quantity on tags, labels, or production reports. • Check lubrications, fills fuel tank, changes batteries, or replaces liquefied gas tank. • May load and unload trucks. • Keep all required records. • Keeps fork lift clean. • Follows all verbal and written instructions pertaining to material handling and any other jobs to which he/she may be assigned. • May be required to assist other operators. • Empties trash on each shift. • If assigned to Inventory: Maintain raw material area in clean, orderly manner; Deliver raw material to production line, as needed; Receive incoming raw material and unload raw material trucks.
