Job details Salary From $9 an hour Job Type Part-time Number of hires for this role 2 Qualifications Guest Services: 1 year (Preferred) Food Service: 1 year (Preferred) Full Job Description Assistant Kitchen Manager/Barista Kitchen Responsibilities: Baking and preparing the full menu of food items offered by The Paddock Taking stock and ordering kitchen items and food prep essentials Fostering positive and productive relationships with vendors Assessing upcoming food needs and planning ahead for kitchen prep Offering creative solutions and plans for fulfilling catering requests Keeping kitchen, cabinets, refrigerator and freezer organized to meet health department standards Ensuring that bakery case is stocked and food is prepared with excellence and safety Assisting with scheduling of employees Guiding guests on making decisions for coffee/food orders, educating them on ingredients and delivering drinks and food Wiping down tables, sweeping and assisting team with maintaining a clean dining environment Working varied hours and days based on business needs, and working weekends and potentially evening special events Barista Responsibilities: Maintaining drink operations of The Paddock coffee counter Ensuring each drink and food item is served swiftly with excellence and over-the-top hospitality Establishing a proficient rhythm for fulfilling guest orders and processing transactions on a POS register system Creating a “coffee experience” that makes the guests feel valued, welcomed and encouraged to come again Cleaning and restocking coffee counter, emptying trash and sanitizing equipment and utensils Wiping down coffee counter, sweeping counter space and ensuring back of bar is free of clutter with on-the-hour cleaning of sinks and coffee/smoothie prep areas Performing bathroom checks every hour and restocking bathroom essentials as needed Assistant kitchen manager/barista must possess the following attributes: Willingness to learn and be a team player Punctual, reliable and consistent in work ethic Natural ability to be trustworthy, honest, friendly, courteous and respectful Heart for serving others The ability to use equipment necessary for store operation Communicate effectively with co-workers, guests and management Well-organized, detail-oriented and able to multi-task Work successfully under pressure in a fast-paced environment and maintain positive and professional attitude Willingness to improve skills and accept constructive criticism This job will require occasional lifting of up to 40 lbs. and the ability to stand for long periods of time, as well as frequent and continuous flexing and rotating of wrists and spine. Job Type: Part-time Pay: From $9.00 per hour Benefits: Employee discount Flexible schedule Paid training Schedule: 8 hour shift Day shift Monday to Friday Weekends Supplemental Pay: Tips COVID-19 considerations: Staff is required to assist with keeping coffee shop clean and safe with current Covid guidelines in place.
