Seeking experienced machine operators to run production orders on our CNC equipment. Work independently to set-up and troubleshoot equipment on new weekend overnight shift opportunity. Schedule: This position will primarily work Friday, Saturday and Sunday overnight hours 5PM to 5:30AM. $1/hour shift premium and 40 hours paid if work all 36 hours as scheduled each weekend. Pay: Varies depending on experience $18-22/hour Qualifications and Core Competencies - To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and possesses the competencies and skills listed. Qualifications include: • One or more years’ experience in related role to including production planning, inventory management, customer/account management. • Strong data entry, attention to detail and clerical skills. To include ability to produce reports utilizing available software and data. • Strong computer/technical skills including: Proficient in Microsoft office products, MRP/ERP software and ability to learn others as needed. JOB DESCRIPTION – CNC OPERATOR Summary: Setup tools and equipment to operate CNC equipment. Use materials as specified to machine production parts by work orders, blueprints, and diagrams. Complete necessary quality inspections. Troubleshoot equipment as necessary. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Others as assigned. • Sets up and operates CNC machines including adjustment and/or replacement of tooling, guides, jigs and fixtures. • Performs basic CNS machine troubleshooting and calibration and minor editing of programs/speeds/feed rates to optimize cycle time. • Verifies conformance of machined parts to specification for blueprints, sketches, or verbal descriptions. • Uses knowledge of G&M code and makes adjustments to meet production goals. • Performs daily checks on machinery to ensure performance. • Monitors work to ensure that machines are not malfunctioning. • Prepares machines for runs including: placement of raw material; assisting in the removal of parts; packing; deburring work between cycles; and cutting parts by hand (where applicable) • Assists engineering in launching and development of new product • Participates in STEPS CI team program. • Follows all verbal and written instructions pertaining to the operation of the CNC machine and related equipment as well as any other jobs assigned. • Uses working knowledge of GSS (MRP software), raw material tickets, work-in-progress and finished goods/inventory tickets, setup charts, rework/defective parts, end of shift paperwork, route sheets, understanding of tool storage/staging operation. • Responsible for following safety guidelines, handling parts and general housekeeping. Maintaining expected levels of safety, quality and work efficiency standards.
