North Central District Health Department is searching for a full time Accounting Supervisor. This position serves under the direction of the Finance Administrator. The salary range for this position is $16.53-$20.70 hourly. Some of the responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to; Establish and maintain financial policies, systems and business processes based on requirements of federal, state and agency policies. Direct and coordinate agency cash management of all governmental accounts and federal grants. Ongoing supervision and performance evaluations of assigned clerical and accounting staff. Apply generally accepted accounting principles in recording financial activity in accounting systems and varied subsystems. Prepare standard statutory, regulatory and GAAP financial and/or accounting reports. Processing payables, analyze complex financial data and extract and define relevant information. Interpret data for the purpose of determining past financial performance. Monitor assigned accounting subsystems, respond to inquiries for solution of difficult accounting problems. Assist with development, monitoring and tracking of agency contracts, MOAs and MOUs. Oversee clinical billing and serve as a resource to those who do clinical billing. Serve as back-up to Finance Administrator. Gather employment information and prepare payroll forms, calculate a variety of complex payroll totals, input data into the budget data entry system. Audit and/or approve travel forms to determine allow ability, allocation and reasonableness, manage billing and cost center information and process payables. Participate in resolving grant and contract related issues. Audit procurement requests for approval and develop patient accounts policies and procedures that support the agency objectives and ensure compliance. Minimum Education, Training or Experience: Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Public Health, Community Health, Accounting or Human Resource Management and one (1) year of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, payroll and accounts payable, business administration or closely related field in an administrative or management capacity OR An individual may be considered for this position if the individual has a High School Diploma or GED and six (6) years of experience that demonstrates the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Substitution for Education, Training or Experience: Education in the field will substitute for the required experience not to exceed (5) years. Special Requirements: Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
