Summary: Develop and grow business by assessing current portfolio including products, markets, technical capabilities, and finances to determine growth of existing and prospective customers and products. Be the company’s source for evaluating/investigating new/existing market trends, strategic growth, and presentation/justification of new business opportunities. Assess the technical feasibility and product optimization with vertical markets and specific customer needs. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Others may be assigned. • Research trends across economy and existing/potential markets as well as competitive analysis based on technology and capabilities. Maintains and stay abreast of market knowledge in respective areas of responsibility. • Builds strategic relationships with existing customers & new prospects for product development and business development opportunities. • Develop a strategic plan in coordination with Management, Sales, Product Development and Plant management. • Provide guidance and plans to Staff for improving marketability and technology opportunities associated with strategic planning. • Manages high-level strategic product launches including business plan, market price, go to market strategy and transition to fulfillment by internal teams. • Collaborate with team on development and formalizing a commercialization plan for large category product launches. • Maintains inter-company relationships, technical information and communications to be liaison for company and customers. • Reviews proposals from engineering for clarity, appropriateness and recommend changes. • Coordinates internal sales activities for assigned customers, insuring customers’ specific requirements are properly interpreted. • Analyze data from internal systems to support decisions on new market development or product development. • Provides and understands customer forecast order requirements for planning purposes. • Communicates across departments and works with others on a regular basis to build consensus around concepts and ideas. • Collaborate with voestalpine global colleagues regarding shared opportunities and best practices. • Collaborates with Sales Management and Development on sales pricing, customer satisfaction, sales representation, trade shows, marketing and market development, sales training, forecasting and budgets. • Supports and contributes to marketing program, maintaining corporate compliance, effective marketing of brand and maintaining positive customer image, which leads to generating new sales. • Other duties may be assigned. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Qualifications include: • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering or Sales/Marketing related field • Five or more years’ related experience in sales or project management. Ideally a combination of sales/manufacturing, engineering, technical or technical sales background. This should include selling and/or providing technical customer relations support with specialized or custom manufactured products. • Experience with and understanding of project management tools and product launch cycle. • Strong computer/technical skills including Microsoft office products with ability to learn other software packages • Strong language, communication and presentation skills. • Ability to travel 30-40% domestically and potentially up to 10% internationally. Travel in the first year could be higher.
