Shipping/Receiving Clerk Shelbyville, KY Seeking employee to prepare shipments, including paperwork and loading trucks, for manufacturing facility. Shifts: • Monday - Friday, 7AM-3:30PM and overtime as needed • Monday - Friday, 3PM-11:30PM and overtime as needed, $1/hr shift premium adder • Sunday night - Thursday night, 11PM-7:30AM and overtime as needed, $0.75/hr shift premium. ___________________________________________________________________________________ Summary: Under minimum supervision, verifies and keeps records on incoming and/or outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. • Must demonstrate the ability to determine method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates. • Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify against bill of lading, invoice, order, or other records. • Will assemble and/or repair wooden or cardboard containers or selects reassembled containers. • May be able to insert items into containers using spacers, fillers, and protective padding. • Will be responsible to fasten covers on wooden crates and binds containers with metal strapping. • Stamps, stencils, or glues identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers. Unpacks and examines incoming shipments. • Records appropriate information relating to damage and part count discrepancies. Records shortages and corresponds with appropriate internal department to advise appropriate personnel of damage, potential damage, part count, or other discrepancies. • Routes items to departments. • Required to operate forklift truck or hand truck to load/unload, move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area. • Instruct and give direct to others in preparing outgoing and receiving incoming shipments. • Will perform shipping/receiving activity, material handling duties, and any other assigned responsibilities. • Must work safely. • Insures that finished goods/raw material warehouse(s) are maintained in an orderly fashion and that space is utilized efficiently. • Perform daily cycle counts of FG, WIP and raw material to maintain accuracy • Ability to organize inventory to maintain FIFO • Keeps all required records and maintains a clean shipping and/or receiving area. • Follows all verbal and written instructions pertaining to any job to which he/she may be assigned. Requires assistance only on items which require information from or coordination with other departments • Backup truck driver when needed (Local box truck pickup and delivery) Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Qualified Candidates Will Have: • One to three months related experience or training including: computers, forklift/material handling, warehouse/inventory and shipping/receiving background • Possesses a current, valid drivers’ license and has a good driving record. Able to obtain/maintain RFC forklift certification. • Available to work open shift and overtime as needed • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs on occasional basis Preferred Candidates Will Also Have: • CDL license with good driving record • Experience with Global Shop Solutions shipping processes and dashboards or ability to learn • Strong work history including good longevity at previous employers Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
