The Shelbyville Fire Department is accepting applications for full-time Firefighter Recruits. General Duties: This position serves under the Fire Captain and/or Fire Sergeant and routinely works a 40-hour work week at the initial field level. Recruits are responsible for learning basic firefighting, emergency vehicle driving, and rescue and emergency medical techniques and methods. Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to meet the approved medical and physical standards of the local fire service. Ability to learn to drive and operate all firefighting and rescue equipment, including motor vehicles. A basic knowledge of the operation of all apparatus, equipment, and methods used in rescue and in combating, extinguishing, and preventing fires. A working knowledge of the rules, regulations, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) of the department—including all City of Shelbyville policies. A basic knowledge about equipment maintenance. Salary: Salary will start between $32,000 and $35,000 annually based on current level of training and experience. After completion of 400-hour certification and EMT, the employee will be placed on the current Firefighter pay scale starting at $40,000 annually, with the addition of the $4,300 annual incentive pay. Description Atlantic Emergency Solutions is seeking full time Heavy Truck Mechanic/Service Technician for our Shelbyville, KY Regional Service Center. Our Heavy Truck Mechanics are responsible for analyzing malfunctions and repairs, rebuilding and maintaining fire and emergency equipment. This includes, but is not limited to the units, pumps, compressors, and generators. A Heavy Truck Mechanic will operate and inspect machines or equipment to diagnose discrepancies, dismantles, repairs, reassembles vehicles or equipment utilizing hand tools and hoists. Examines parts for damage or excessive wear using precision measuring equipment. Repairs, rebuilds, overhauls, replaces defective assemblies and components such as collector gear boxes, transfer cases, differentials, and both water or hydraulic pumps. Tests overhauled equipment to insure operating efficiency. Welds broken parts and structural members. Requirements Successful candidate will have at least three years of prior experience in the heavy truck industry, along with being able to lift up to 30lbs without assistance. GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The soil room sorter is responsible for the correct sorting of hospital linen that has been placed on a constantly moving conveyor belt in front of them. General Duties: This position serves under the Fire Captain or Fire Sergeant and routinely works a scheduled 24 hours per week in 12 and 24-hour shifts.
